DTE Energy says it's wrapping up power restoration efforts for customers who lost service amid freezing rain, high winds and snow amid a weekend ice storm.

The Detroit-based utility says crews have restored electricity to 99 percent of the 390,000 customers affected by the storm.

It said Wednesday night that the about 5,000 homes and businesses still without power should have it back by the end of the day Thursday.

Since Sunday, 1,600 workers from DTE and several other states have been working to restore service.

Consumers Energy had about 130,000 Michigan outages and restored power to most by Monday night.
