Three members of a high school rowing team were rescued from the Detroit River after choppy waters flooded their boat.

The U.S. Coast Guard says two members of the Grosse Ile High School rowing team were pulled from the water Saturday morning. A third crew member had crawled aboard a nearby boat and was showing signs of hypothermia.

Other members of the team had also climbed aboard the boat, but did not need medical attention.

The Coast Guard transported the three students to the shore, where ambulances took them to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Officials say the team was practicing when the wake of other passing vessels swamped their row boat.
