Memorial Day is Monday, but the city of Lansing holds its observances on Saturday.

The Lansing Fire Department will honor firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty along with active and retired firefighters who have passed this year with a ceremony at 11 a-m tomorrow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

At noon, the city’s Memorial Day Committee will hold its annual event at Evergreen Cemetery in the Little Arlington section. The theme this year is “We Will Never Forget.” The Navy Band Great Lakes and the Old Skool Fellas will perform at the ceremony.

Mayor Andy Schor will give remarks at both events, and the public is invited to attend.
