Update: Police Find Armed Suspect In A Barn

UPDATED on Aug. 28 at Noon: Police found a suspect who fled after a brief standoff with sheriff's deputies in Ingham county.

Accordingto WKAR news partner WLNS-TV,  police found 33-year-old Eddie Rockwell in a barn in Aurelius Township. 

It took a police negotiator 6-hours to bring Rockwell into custody. 

He is now in the Ingham County jail.

According to Capital Area Ingham County Alerts, deputies from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a person peeking in home and vehicle windows around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

A deputy located the suspect, Rockwell, in the 600 block of Edgar Road.

Rockwell is from Onondaga.  The sheriff's department said he owned a vehicle involved in a car crash on Barnes and Edgar Roads before 6:00 a.m.

The department said he refused to show his hands, then pulled a gun from his waistband which fell on the ground.

Deputies said Rockwell retrieved the gun and fled into a nearby wooded area before officers could draw their guns.

At least 50 officers from several departments searched from Rockwell through the afternoon.  Some homes were evacuated.

As of 9:00 p.m., Rockwell is still on the run. Officers believe he has left the area.
