A past President of Lansing's Downtown Neighborhood Association so far is supportive of a proposed $6.8 million development there.
Developer Scott Gillespie envisions three-buildings containing 90 rental units on Ottawa and Butler Streets near the state Hall of Justice.
Monica Zuchowski says Gillespie is listening carefully to downtown residents about the project.
"He's reaching out to individual members of the neighborhood," she says. "He's meeting with the neighborhood groups. He's making changes in his plans based on some of those comments."
At Monday night's Lansing City Council meeting, Gillespie applied for up to $892,000 in city Brownfield funding for the project.
Zuchowski says the developer is planning a presentation at a neighborhood association meeting this Thursday.
