Lansing Area Fire Departments Set Burning Ban

WKAR file photo

Lansing area fire officials have imposed an outdoor burning ban to take effect Friday morning.Seven municipalities and townships are participating in the ban, due to what the authorities call “dangerously dry” conditions.  The ban--which takes effect at 7 a.m. Friday--covers the areas served by the following fire departments:  Lansing, East Lansing, Mason and the following townships:  Lansing, Delta, Delhi and Meridian.

The outdoor burning ban will remain in effect until further notice.

The statement includes a precaution about using fireworks in dry areas because of the Fourth of July holiday.
