Civic leaders and the public will gather Tuesday morning in downtown Lansing to remember the 9-11 tragedy. The hour long event will include an honor guard, music, displays and remarks from Mayor Virg Bernero and others.

Lansing Fire Department spokesman Steve Babcock says one display features the more than 250  Michigan fatalities from the 'War on Terror.'

"We're listing the names, ages, branch of service and hometown…in Michigan…that we've lost," he says.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the appearance of a steel beam from the World Trade Center near Michigan and Grand Avenues.

"Lansing Remembers 9-11" is set for 8:30 a.m. at Wentworth Park, downtown.
