Officials say the number of Michigan fungal meningitis cases is climbing.
The number now stands at 22, including a non-meningitis infection of a joint. Two women have died.
Friends and family gathered Monday for a wake for 67-year-old Lilian Cary of Howell. She died in September, weeks after being treated with contaminated steroids for back pain.
The other death involved a 56-year-old woman.
Officials have tied the national meningitis outbreak to steroid shots, which were made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts. Four Michigan clinics received shipments.
Cary's husband, George Cary, says he's mourning his wife's death while waiting to see if he's been infected. He also got steroid injections from the same Brighton clinic.
