The Little Traverse Bay region near Petoskey may be the site of a future Native American Indian reservation

One of Michigan’s most popular tourist areas is the subject of a lawsuit that could turn hundreds of square miles into an Indian reservation.

The area includes several cities, including Petoskey and Harbor Springs.

The federal district court suit is expected to take years to play out in court, especially as the losers appeal to higher courts.

Current State’s Mark Bashore talks with MLive reporter Garret Ellison to learn more about the lawsuit.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
