MSU J-School director Davenport and international student team on election plans | MI First Election

Peter Whorf

MSU School of Journalism director Lucinda Davenport and graduate student Pechulano Ali discuss their efforts with the university's MI First Election efforts.

MI First Election brings together student reporters and media professionals to form Michigan’s largest election team, covering state and local issues affecting first-time voters. MI First Election is a project of the School of Journalism at Michigan State University, with production and editorial support from WKAR Public Media. The J-School and WKAR are units of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at MSU.

WKAR has closed the gap left by the loss of federal funding. Because of you, trusted journalism, inspiring stories, and classical music remain freely available to everyone in mid-Michigan.
Now the work continues — your monthly gift helps maintain this success and keeps public media free for all.
