Four of the five candidates for Lansing mayor will appear at a forum Thursday evening at the main branch of the Capital Area District Library in downtown Lansing.

Four of the five candidates for Lansing mayor will talk about their visions for the city at a public forum tonight.

Three of the five candidates are political veterans.

Andy Schor represents parts of Lansing as the 68th district state representative.

Former Olympian and silver medalist Judi Brown Clark currently serves at-large on the Lansing City Council.

A past city council president Harold Leeman Junior, has also thrown his hat into the ring.  Leeman faces trial in Ingham County later this month on a felony embezzlement charge.

A fourth candidate, Michael Joseph Gillenkirk, has never held political office but did previously work for the Michigan Republican Party.

The youngest candidate for Lansing mayor, 20-year-old Danny Trevino, will not attend tonight’s forum.  Trevino faces one felony charge of domestic abuse.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

Lansing holds its primary election on August 8.
