Previewing The Michigan Supreme Court With The New Chief Justice

Bridget McCormack
Michigan Courts

Michigan’s Supreme Court is back in session Wednesday with a new member and a new leader.

Justice Bridget McCormack is a Democrat. But she was elected by her mostly Republican fellow justices to be the new chief of the court.

Capitol Correspondent Cheyna Roth spoke with Chief Justice McCormack about McCormack’s plans to keep the politics out of the courtroom during her time as chief.

Before becoming the newest Capitol reporter for Michigan Public Radio Network, Cheyna Roth was an attorney. She spent her days fighting it out in court as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Ionia County.
