PBS - Sesame Street

Fri. Oct. 30 at 9 p.m on WKAR-HD 23.1  | Enjoy a celebration of the music of Sesame Street with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

Big Bird, Elmo and other Sesame Street favorites sing the show's songs alongside the world-renowned orchestra and artistic director Wynton Marsalis. The special reimagines favorite Sesame Street songs as big band bonanzas with brand-new arrangements. Those classics include Rubber Duckie, I Don’t Want to Live on the Moon, and People in Your Neighborhood.

ABOUT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER
The mission of Jazz at Lincoln Center is to entertain, enrich, and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education, and advocacy. We believe jazz is a metaphor for Democracy. Because jazz is improvisational, it celebrates personal freedom and encourages individual expression. Because jazz is swinging, it dedicates that freedom to finding and maintaining common ground with others. Because jazz is rooted in the blues, it inspires us to face adversity with persistent optimism.

WKAR’s first live pledge drive since federal funding was eliminated is happening now. Our goal for the drive is $60,000 and reaching it will bring us one step closer to closing the federal funding gap.
