SCOTUS takes up of gene patenting

  The Supreme Court heard arguments last week about whether human genes can be patented. The court’s ruling could drastically change the biotech industry and also the way universities do research.

Jennifer Carter-Johnson is an assistant law professor at Michigan State University. She’s an expert in intellectual property law, and she has a P.H.D. in microbiology. Carter-Johnson chats with Current State’s Emanuele Berry about the potential impacts of the Supreme Court's latest case.
