Michigan played early part in women’s suffrage

Michigan women received the right to vote on this day—Nov. 5, 1918— 95-years ago. Michigan was one of the earlier states to approve women’s suffrage.Emily Fijol, assistant director of the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame, says women in Michigan began to organize for the right to vote in the 1870's, and they finally won that right in 1918.
