‘Micronotes’, ancient instruments featured in Turkish classical music

A group of musicians from Turkey will be at Kellogg Center tonight. The name of the concert is “Heritage of 1000 Years.”The program features Turkish classical music played on traditional instruments. Current State hosted Ahmed Erdem, who plays the tanbur; Murat Tokaç, who plays the ney; and Alex Terzian of Ann Arbor, who also plays tanbur.

Terzian says he discovered the tanbur by accident by way of YouTube videos.
