Fifty-five years later, remembering the shipwrecked SS Carl Bradley

The sinking of the SS Carl D. Bradley claimed the lives of 33 crewmembers on Lake Michigan. The Bradley wreck doesn’t get talked about as much as the Edmund Fitzgerald does, but it is a story worth remembering.Current State’s Melissa Benmark spoke with Bruce Lynn, the Executive Director of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point, about what happened that day. He says the 640-foot Carl D. Bradley was the largest ship on Great Lakes waters at the time, on its last trip of the season when it went down, and there were a couple of survivors.
