Michigan GOP chief on Snyder's reelection bid

Rick Snyder

Michigan GovernorRick Snyder is launching his re-election campaign with a string of appearances that tout “Michigan’s Comeback.”  Yesterday, the Governor pressed the flesh in Detroit, Lansing and Grand Rapids.  Today, it’s on to Traverse City, Frankenmuth and Oakland County.

The re-election campaign became official on Sunday, when the Rick For Michigan campaign unveiled online and during the Super Bowl a60-second commercial calling attention to the accomplishments of the Republican incumbent over the past three years. Among them, more than 220,000 new private sector jobs.

Democrats, including Snyder opponent Mark Schauer, responded yesterday. They labeled the campaign stops as a rebranding tour, meant to distract voters from the destructive impacts of Snyder and Republican policies.

Current State's Mark Bashore spoke withBobby Schostak, the Chairman of Michigan’s Republican Party and a key participant in Mr. Snyder’s re-election bid, on what he hopes the Governor’s tour stops will accomplish.

Schostak says it is a great opportunity for the governor to get out and see the communities and businesses to talk about success in Michigan.
