First female Canadian astronaut Dr. Roberta Bondar recalls dreams of flight | Women's History Month

Roberta Bondar grew up in Ontario, camped in Michigan as a girl, and grew to become her nation’s first female astronaut. She shares her story today on WKAR.

 

Ontario, Canada native and former astronaut Dr. Roberta Bondar flew aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery in 1992... as Canada’s first female astronaut.

She holds doctorates in both medicine and philosophy.

Bondar is also a prolific photographer and the author of 4 photo essay books.

As part of WKAR’s Women’s History Month celebration, Peter Whorf speaks with Roberta Bondar in this 2015 conversation.
