MSU Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Walt Drenth was last season’s Big Ten Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year. The coach and his runners have won many honors during Drenth’s tenure in the Big 10, MAC and Pac 12 conferences. Now the Spartan Women’s Cross Country team has brought new national accolades to MSU.WKAR’s Al Martin speaks with Drenth by phone about the recent announcement that the MSU women’s team is now number one in the country.
