Current Sports #523 | August 11, 2015

MSU Softball Investigation, College Coaches, MSU Media Day, Top Five Tuesday and more!

Technical difficulties have temporarily postponed the posting of Monday's return show, but WKAR's Current Sports is finally back on your computer. This show, Al and Isaac open by discussing the MSU softball scandall, which was finally resolved yesterday. Coaches Jessica Beech Bograkos and Jacquie Joseph were not convicted of hitting their own player with several pitches intentionally during practice, an allegation brought forth by former player Alyssa McBride. Then, it's on to Michigan State football media day and the 'Top Five Michigan State Media Day Takeaways', a segment with plenty of debate, until the end of the show.

Every WKAR News story you read is rooted in fact-based, local journalism, produced without commercial influence and available for free to everyone in mid-Michigan. No paywalls. Ever.

But this work doesn’t fund itself. With significant cuts to federal funding, public media is facing a critical moment. If you believe in journalism that serves the public interest, now is the time to act. Donate today.
