TECHNOTE: WKAR TV channels missing for some over-the-air viewers

If you receive WKAR-TV over the air via antenna and have lost channels 23.1, 23.2 and 23.3, please rescan for channels on your TV. After a rescan, WKAR TV channels should return.

Beginning Monday evening 11/14, due to difficulties with the Electronic Program Guide component of our digital television transmission, some sets may have lost the ability to tune to WKAR-TV on channel 23.  The issue was corrected Tuesday morning, 11/15.

For those who lost WKAR from their channel line-up during that period, a channel rescan now should retore all of the WKAR over-the-air broadcast channels.

Viewers who receive WKAR via cable or satellite service providers were not affected.

Every WKAR News story you read is rooted in fact-based, local journalism, produced without commercial influence and available for free to everyone in mid-Michigan. No paywalls. Ever.

But this work doesn’t fund itself. With significant cuts to federal funding, public media is facing a critical moment. If you believe in journalism that serves the public interest, now is the time to act. Donate today.
