The call of the Pacific Northwest came to Morning Edition host Emily Fox earlier this month. And Emily answered.

Following a six-month stay as WKAR's local morning host, Emily recently announced that she is returning to life in Seattle. There she will launch a new two-hour weekly public affairs-based talk show at public station KEXP-FM. She was previously employed from 2016-2018 at Seattle's KUOW.

"There've been so many personal and career changes leading me back to Seattle," says Emily. She describes her new position as a place where she can "do what I love about public radio, which is using music to tell broader stories." Emily says she will be “interviewing musicians about how their music tells stories about identity, race, sense of place, history and current events."

Emily Fox’s last day as Morning Edition host is Friday, Dec. 28. WKAR veteran reporter Scott Pohl will serve as interim Morning Edition host while a new permanent local host is sought.
