Former Vice President Joe Biden wants Michigan residents to know what’s at stake for the November election. Biden was in Lansing Thursday night to hold a rally for Democratic candidates.


Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette on Tuesday canceled TV ads across Michigan in the final week of the race, except in the Detroit market — another sign that his campaign was facing an uphill climb to defeat Democrat Gretchen Whitmer.

Michigan voters will select a new governor on Election Day.  The state’s chief executive will preside over a public school system that serves more than 1.5 million students.  The  six gubernatorial candidates are each outlining their vision for public education in Michigan.

Democrat Gretchen Whitmer and Republican Bill Schuette traded shots on health care, taxes and other issues in their first head-to-head debate in Michigan's race for governor.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gretchen Whitmer has announced that her running mate is Garlin Gilchrist II, who runs the University of Michigan's Center for Social Media Responsibility.

Republican Bill Schuette and Democrat Gretchen Whitmer will battle it out for the governor’s seat in November. Libertarians also had a choice for governor on the primary ticket, for the first time in Michigan’s history. 


On August 7, voters will narrow a field of four Republicans and three Democrats vying to become Michigan’s 49th governor.   The Republicans in the race are Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley, Attorney General Bill Schuette, state Senator Patrick Colbeck and physician Jim Hines.
