Moviemaking in Michigan: rewriting and settling on a title

Scott Pohl/WKAR

Current State’s Scott Pohl has been following the making of a movie in Michigan for our series “Moviemaking in Michigan”. We’ve met a couple of people involved in this project, and it’s time for part three.

The biggest news with this project is that we can now tell you what this movie will be called. For our earlier installments, these guys hadn’t yet gotten permission for the title they wanted, but now they have. The story takes place in Detroit's Eastern Market, and that’s what they’re calling it: "Eastern Market”.

We’ve met the writer, Rich Goteri, and the director, Patrick Moug. Today’s talk is with Michael Mili. He’s working with Goteri on the script and helping get the film produced. Mili says Eastern Market was important to him growing up in Detroit.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
