The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is adding a second location in Canton to the traditional schedule in Jackson.

Big changes are afoot at the Michigan Shakespeare Festival this year. The Festival is staging “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Henry IV” and Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s “The Rivals.” The big news, though, is that the festival is branching out from its base at Jackson College’s Baughman Theatre.

After two weeks there, the festival will wrap up its schedule at the Theatre of Cherry Hill in Canton.

Current State’s Scott Pohl speaks with the festival’s Producing Artistic Director, Janice Blixt, about this year’s shows and the reasons for splitting the season between Jackson and Canton.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
