From the tragic to the weird, a diverse lineup screening at Okemos film series

The documentary 'The Wolfpack,' one of the movies being screened this month at the Indie Film Series. It won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.

If you like documentaries, independent, and arthouse films, you’re in luck, because the Indie Film Series just kicked off last week. We talk with founder Susan Woods about the films she selected for the series.

Box office hits and blockbusters appeal to the masses, but independent films tell stories that are off the beaten path.

The Indie Film Series just started in Lansing Friday, and will run until October first.

Current State speaks with Susan Woods, not only the founder of the Indie Film Series, but also the East Lansing Film Festival and a member of the city council in East Lansing.
