A Pulitzer Prize winning composer and an MSU faculty soloist are two highlights of the upcoming Wind Symphony concert. Current State’s Peter Whorf visits with conductor Kevin Sedatole.

Virtuosic wind playing will resound in the Cobb Great Hall at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts Thursday night at 7:30 as the MSU Wind Symphony takes the stage. Professor of Music and Director of Bands Kevin Sedatole will lead the musicians in a program of works by Kevin Puts, Gustav Holst, Steven Bryant and Jonathan Newman.

Bryant’s "Concerto for Alto Saxophone" was given its world premiere at MSU last year by the Wind Symphony and saxophonist Joseph Lulloff. They’ll re-create the experience Friday night.

Kevin Puts’s work "Millenium Canons" is becoming a concert hall staple and leads off the program.

Current State's Peter Whorf speaks with Sedatole to preview the concert and talk about Pulitzer Prize-winner Puts.
