From WKAR radio archive, a ghost of Christmas past

Microphone
WKAR AM/870 celebrates 90 years on August 18.

We take you back to 1960 for a classic WKAR reading of Dicken’s "A Christmas Carol."

Throw another log on the fire now, grab a hot cider, and gather around the radio for a trip back to Christmas, 1960.

Current State brings you a preview of a newly re-discovered reading of Charles Dickens’s "A Christmas Carol" from the WKAR staff of 55 years past.

The complete hour-long performance comes your way this Sunday night at 8 p.m. and Christmas Eve at 7 p.m.

You’ll recognize the first voice on the show as longtime AM-870 Radio Reader host Dick Estelle.
