Kerstin Anderson as Maria Rainer from 'The Sound of Music' North American Tour

The Wharton Center will be alive with "The Sound of Music" this week as the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical comes to East Lansing. We speak with two of the cast members of this North American tour, one of whom is Michigan’s former Miss Isabella County.

It’s one of those musicals that never seems to get old, and the North American tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s "The Sound of Music" is now at the Wharton Center.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley spoke with two of the cast members ahead of their opening night. Teri Hansen is a Michigan native playing Elsa Schrader, and Kerstin Anderson, the young actress who plays Maria, the nun-turned-governess-turned-bride in the classic musical.
