Genadi Zagor is a new professor this year at the MSU College of Music. We speak with the pianist ahead of his appearance in Old Town Lansing as part of the Absolute Chamber Music series, playing music by Robert Schumann.

Tonight, the romantic-era of Robert Schumann comes to Old Town Lansing with the next concert in the Absolute Chamber Music Series.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley speaks with the pianist who will be taking this concert entirely by himself. He’s a pianist who is also new to the teaching faculty of MSU’s college of music. The Russian-born pianist Genadi Zagor started teaching at MSU in the fall of 2015, although he got his Masters in Piano Performance from MSU several years ago.

The entirety of tonight’s concert with Genadi Zagor at the Absolute Gallery is comprised of two works by Robert Schumann: the "Kreisleriana" and "Symphonic Etudes."
