The Peppermint Creek Theatre Company will open 'The Secret Garden' tonight.

A musical staging of "The Secret Garden" is coming to Lansing. We talk with Chad Badgero of the Peppermint Creek Theatre Company.

Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel “The Secret Garden” was published in 1911, and the story of orphan Mary Lennox and her strange uncle has been captivating young imaginations ever since. In the over 100 years since its publication, the book has been adapted for stage and screen and even turned into a musical.

Lansing’s Peppermint Creek Theatre is taking on that musical adaptation of the classic children’s tale in their latest show.

Current State’s April Van Buren speaks with Peppermint Creek’s artistic director Chad Badgero, who told her that he’d always loved the the story as a child.
