The Blue Echoes are (L-R) Larry Palmiter, Roger Benham, Craig Benham and Larry Vance.

The Who recently celebrated a 50th anniversary tour, but that’s nothing. For Live Music Friday, we have a group that’s been together for 60 years! The Blue Echoes, Lansing’s first rock band, perform live in WKAR’s Studio S.

For Live Music Friday today, we’ve invited a group of guys who appear to have been Lansing’s first-ever rock band. They’re called the Blue Echoes, and they’ve been together for 60 years now!

The Blue Echoes were recently inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame.

Members are Roger Benham on lead guitar and vocals, Larry Palmiter on keyboards, bass and lead vocals, Larry Vance on guitar and vocals and drummer Craig Benham. The band performs "You're the One" and "O' Misery" live from WKAR's Studio S.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
