Michigan State Alumni Tyler Oakley Returns For Homecoming Week

Youtuber Tyler Oakley will be the grand marshal for Michigan State’s 2017 homecoming week.

Tyler Oakley has been a YouTuber for ten years and he filmed his first video at MSU.

Oakley graduated in 2011 from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.

The LGBT+ vlogger has gained quite the following with almost 8 million Youtube subscribers, 6.7 million Instagram followers, 6.1 million Twitter followers, and about 3 million Facebook followers.

Even though his career is still young, Oakley has many accomplishments:

·      He met fans during his international “Slumber Party” tour.

·      His book BINGE was on the New York Times Best Sellers List for eleven weeks.

·      Oakley has released a documentary called SNERVOUS.

·      Former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama met with Oakley about connecting with youths through digital platforms.

·      Oakley is a supporter of the Trevor Project and raised $1 million for the organization.

·      He has his own show on ellentube.
