Iconic Lansing clothier marks 150th anniversary

Kositchek’s department store has been dressing Lansing men in high-end suits for 150 years. The store is a fourth generation family business. Current State’s Kevin Lavery talks with president David Kositchek.

A downtown Lansing icon is celebrating a momentous event in 2015. This year, Kositchek’s mens’ wear store celebrates its 150th anniversary in mid-Michigan. The current president is David Kositchek, who’s been at the helm since 1997.

Current State’s Kevin Lavery spent some time in the Washington Avenue landmark to learn their secret of its success.

Kevin Lavery served as a general assignment reporter and occasional local host for Morning Edition and All Things Considered before retiring in 2023.
