Neighbors in Action: Red Cross of Mid-Michigan

Wednesday on Current State means it’s time for Neighbors in Action, when we feature people and organizations working to make Greater Lansing a better place. Today, we learn about the Mid-Michigan chapter of an organization you’re probably pretty familiar with, the Red Cross.Current State talks about the Red Cross’s “disaster impact teams” with volunteer Joyce Newmeyer, and Alison Haller, a young woman who became a client of the Red Cross after her apartment was damaged in a fire earlier this year.

We could always use more nominations and we know there are people and organizations out there that are doing excellent work, but we just don’t know about them. Please help us out and tweet us suggestions at  @KARCurrentState or send us an email to Currentstate@wkar.org. Put “Neighbors in Action” in the subject line and tell us why you think they should be featured for the great work they do.
