Neighbors in Action: The Firecracker Foundation

On this week’s Neighbors in Action segment, Current State catches up with Tashmica Torok, founder of The Firecracker Foundation. The non-profit helps children who have been the victims of sexual abuse find treatment and support and is celebrating its second anniversary this week.

Wednesday on Current State means it’s time for Neighbors in Action, when we feature people and organizations working to make Greater Lansing a better place. Today, we learn about the Firecracker Foundation, an organization that helps children who have been victims of sexual abuse recover from their trauma.

Current State speaks with founder Tashmica Torok, who we first had on the show when the Firecracker Foundation was just starting out two years ago.

Current State is looking for more nominations for our “Neighbors In Action” feature. Please help us out and e-mail us your suggestions to currentstate@wkar.org. Put "Neighbors in Action" in the subject line. Or tweet us: @KARCurrentState and tell us a little about why you think they should be featured for the great work they do.
