Animal Auction At The Ingham County Fair

The Ingham County Fair is well underway, and there’s more to this fair than rides and elephant ears.

Development programs like 4H and Future Farmers of America are giving local youth the opportunity to auction off animals they’ve been taking care of all summer.

Emma Barnum is a 4H and FFA member shows variety of livestock at the fair. She said these programs are setting her up for a great future.

She said, “When you support at the auction, you're supporting the youth of our community and that's really what the fair is all about is supporting the youth who are working really hard and doing their best all throughout the summer to raise these animals.”

Many of the youth auctioneers said that they will be saving the funds they get for college.

The next small animal auction will be at 1 PM tomorrow at the Main Arena Building at the Ingham County Fair.
