Lansing State Journal

Phife Dawg, Michigan High School Basketball, Deyonta Davis, NBA Draft, Todd Duckett, New World Flood, Jamyrin Jackson, and High School Shot Clock.

At the start of today's "Current Sports with Al Martin" tribute is paid to the late, great Phife Dawg of "A Tribe Called Quest", who passed away Tuesday. Al and engineer Isaac Constans talk about the legendary rapper's meaning to hip-hop in a segment away from sports. Then, Current Sports was in attendance at the Lansing Everett vs. Hudsonville game and Al presents his takeaways and interviews from the game. Al and Isaac then revisit the factors that could determine Deyonta Davis' MSU future. Todd Duckett, former MSU running back, is also on the show to talk about his organization, New World Flood, and his event "Battlefield Brawl" which is a flag football tourney raising money for a good cause.  Finally, Al chats with callers about why high school basketball needs a shot clock.
