Lee Vickers, Founder Of Varsity Nation, Speaks On Summer Recruitment And MSU Sexual Assault Cases

It's offseason for high school sports, but the work is never done for an athlete. At Varsity Nation, the motto is "No offseason," which proves that work goes all year-round.  Varsity Nation's work prepares athletes to be the best at their craft and make a big name for themselves at the next level.

The founder of Varsity Nation and youth football coach, Lee Vickers speaks on "Current Sports with Al Martin" today about the program he started. Varsity Nation focuses on player development in high school sports and putting mid-Michigan athletes in the national discussion.

Vickers speaks on the what athletes do in their summer schedules and how the summer recruitment process goes. He names great young talent and gives them credit.  Vickers also chimes in on the MSU sexual assault cases.

Vickers says there is a lot more we can do to teach young kids to have morality.  The cultural norm recently has allowed for young kids to make bad decisions, and he says he chooses to protect instead of prey on those young kids.

Although he is disappointed in the Spartans, he is sure coach Mark Dantonio will handle that situation accordingly.  Vickers tells his athletes all the time to keep their hands to themselves, which he says is common sense.
