The United States Women's National Soccer Team and its remarkable run in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup brought up the topic of equal pay in women's sports. Why is the pay differential so high when comparing both the women's national team to that of the men's? What will it take in order to see equal pay across the board when it comes to women's professional sports in America? Listen to today's Current Sports with Al Martin Segment of the Day.

Al also dives into the pay differential within men's professional sports in America and dissects why the NFL, which has had the biggest sports TV ratings in the nation for quite some time, lags behind the NBA when it comes to paying its superstars. According to Al, these differentials have to do with one thing: you, the consumer.

Al Martin is the host of Beyond the Score, a new series coming to WKAR in the fall of 2024. Al is also sports reporter for WKAR news.
