The NBA's board of governors have approved a pair of changes for next season. Those changes will include the use of a coach's challenge and the league's replay center initiating replay proceedings for certain play types. Also, there is a big debate happening right now concerning if the NBA regular season should be cut down from 82 games. Current Sports host Al Martin thinks both discussions are insane. Listen to today's Current Sports Segment of the Day.

In addition, the NBA will also now have a "courtside administrator," which is a new position hired and supervised by the NBA's league office. The individual will be positioned at the scorer's table, aiming to speed up communication between the replay center and referees.

Al Martin is the host of Beyond the Score, a new series coming to WKAR in the fall of 2024. Al is also sports reporter for WKAR news.
