EL workshop will prep girls, parents for college social scene

http://wrac.msu.edu/

An MSU professor who has authored a book about the hook-up culture on today’s college campuses has organized a program this weekend geared toward preparing high school girls for the pressures they may encounter when they move on to college.Stephanie Amada and clinical psychologist Dr. Jeff Van Meter want the program to foster communication between girls and a parent or guardian. The result, they hope, will be young women who are ready to handle the sexual situations they might find themselves in on college campuses.

Current State’s Scott Pohl speaks with Amada and Van Meter about “College Party Survival 101.”

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
