8400+ Freshmen Move In At Michigan State University

The Michigan State University campus is filling up quickly with students ready for the first day of classes on Wednesday.

SUV’s, pick-up trucks even U-Hauls unloaded everything from clothes to cookware in front of MSU’s residence halls all weekend.

In front of Wilson Hall, we met Leniseya Johnson, a first-year computer engineering major from Detroit. She is one of 8,400 freshmen this fall at MSU.

“I’m excited," said Johnson. "I’m looking forward to earning that degree so I’m ready to put that work in.”

Johnson’s mother Reniseya is also excited.

“I’m glad to see her progressing the way she is and looking forward to earning this degree but not looking forward to paying this freaking room and board," said Johnson.

In a statement issued Friday, Michigan State University said every dorm room on campus is now wired with WiFi.

Earlier in the summer, it was announced all campus CATA bus rides for students this year will be free.
