ESSAY: Former local TV personality reflects on motherhood

Courtesy - Mona Shand

Mother’s Day is Sunday, and when we heard about a program called "The Mommologues: Musings on Motherhood" being performed in Howell last night, we decided to invite one of the participating writers to share her work with us. Former WLNS-TV 6 reporter Mona Shand is a mother of three young children. She helped produce last night's program for LACASA, a Livingston County domestic violence prevention agency.

Shand wrote this piece about her struggle to find her identity as a mom after leaving full-time professional work.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
