Michigan Governor Rick Snyder is in Europe this week as part of a weeklong mission to expand auto investments in the state.

Governor Snyder is currently attending the International Paris Air Show where he is set to meet with leading aerospace companies as part of his mission to brings jobs to Michigan. He will also meet with Michigan executives attending the event.

In a press release sent out this week Snyder says, “It’s clear that Michigan’s reinvention story has resonated with companies throughout Europe.” He says he will use his time in Europe to lay the groundwork for new investments to materialize over the next several years.

Snyder will next head to Germany where he will meet with government leaders on Thursday. Then he’ll finish the trip in Italy to meet with more business executives before returning to Michigan on Saturday.

This will mark Snyder’s fifth trade mission to Europe.

According to Snyder, the missions have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars of investments in Michigan by foreign companies.
