Tentative Agreement For Waverly School Teachers

After months of fighting for a deal, Waverly Community School Teachers have reached a tentative contract agreement.

The Waverly Education Association announces a contract agreement has temporarily been reached.

The fight started earlier this year, when concerned teachers and parents brought up the contract dispute during a board meeting held by the Waverly Board of Education. It was due to the fact that over a 100 teachers were working for the school without contract since July 2016.

This led to the board cutting public comment short and finish its meeting behind closed doors.

The outcome left those who showed up, angry and upset.

2 weeks later, the board allowed members of the public to have a second change to speak their minds.

Sticking points during negotiations were benefits and pay.
