MSU President Simon and the board asked state Attorney General Bill Schuette to open an investigation.

MSU President Lou Anna Simon and the university Board of Trustees went into a closed-door meeting. That’s following a growing chorus of calls for Simon to resign or be fired.

Simon and the board asked state Attorney General Bill Schuette to open an investigation.

Schuette told radio station WJR that will happen, but a formal announcement will wait until after victims have the chance to speak at Nassar’s sentencing hearing.

“Let every one of those more than 100 victims have their day,” he said.

There are accusations that as many as 14 officials fielded complaints from athletes or their parents, but did nothing to stop Nassar.
