Engler's Appointment As MSU Interim President Brings More Discord to Campus

Michigan State University has a new interim president. On Wednesday, the MSU Board of Trustees named  John Engler to that post.  Engler is a former Republican governor of Michigan who served from 1991 to 2003.

Engler’s appointment comes in the wake of a scandal that has spurred multiple investigations into how MSU has handled reports of sexual assault.

Now, as WKAR’s Kevin Lavery reports, the board’s unanimous endorsement of Engler is causing more disunity on campus.

Kevin Lavery is a general assignment reporter and occasional local host for Morning Edition and All Things considered.
