A Michigan State University student is suing the school for how she says she was treated after she reported being raped by three MSU basketball players in 2015.

WILX-TV in Lansing reports in a lawsuit filed today In The United States District Court For The Western District Of Michigan Southern Division, the student identified only as Jane Doe, claims that following her report of the assault to MSU Counseling Center staff, the staff discouraged her from filing a police report saying it would bring negative media attention.

The lawsuit asks for a trial by jury, as well as Compensatory damages for the Plaintiff’s psychological and emotional distress.
